What is Ansible?

Welcome to Ansible!

Ansible is a new blog to help transition away from travel writing and to address more of my everyday life, which is mostly tech obsession, music production and photography. Come August 2014, I'll be moving back to home, though a new home, in Memphis Tennessee with my lovely wife, Haley Kwon. After almost 8 years living and working abroad, I'll no longer be focusing on traveling blogging. After living in South Korea for nearly four years, I've become uninspired blogging about my life here for a number of reasons. I started my Korea Blog for friends and family and I have seen a decrease in their traffic, reciprocating my own decline in things to blog about. After a number of years living in the same place, however foreign it may be, it begins to lose its exoticism and suddenly teaching ESL in a foreign country eventually turns into any other 9 to 5.  Ansible is my transition from travel blogging to blogging about hobbies, thoughts and, well, married life: equilibrium.

So why ansible? I recently finished the Ender Quintet by Orson Scott Card; within the Ender universe, an ansible is a computer-based mechanism for instantaneous data and communications transmissions as imagined years before the modern Internet. I project this particular blog to serve similar functions albeit lacking in the true instantaneous, real-time nature of the ansible network in Ender's Game.

So here's to the future of instantaneous discussion.
