Sharing the Load and Letting Go: in search of a visa

Here we are about six months out from our move to Tennessee and it's finally time to tackle the CR-1 visa to get Hayoung to America. I'm not going to speak for Hayoung, whom is well-read and well-prepared for what's about to come but it's been looming over my head since our wedding last November. One step at a time, right?
Throughout my time traveling, volunteering in the Peace Corps, getting through African borders through, say 'negotiable' means, I've handled a myriad of bureaucracy, paperwork, 'paperwork', applications, passport photos, criminal background checks at state and federal levels, health screenings and good, old fashioned paper collection. I have a system and it's nearly a decade tried-and-true. I have never been denied entrance, a visa nor a job opportunity abroad. I take this as a testament to my system and philosophy of preparedness:  measure twice, cut once; over prepare, over deliver. What you see in the picture above is the result of years of a system that has worked for me. What you see above was taken apart, reordered and reorganized after a lot of time and effort. Yesterday, I disassembled my system and handed it over to Hayoung, the love of my life.
It's a scary thing, letting go of old routines and practices and putting unwavering trust in another person, especially with something as big as getting her to your home country.
We had a problem yesterday. We both have our systems, our order of operations and they overlapped in a pretty catastrophical way. We both got home with more or less the same documents in various stages of completion.
Needless to say there was trouble in paradise. But the truth is, we were both attacking this thing head-on, trying to protect the other from a firebreathing dragon. And that's a beautiful thing. It took a lot of Seoul searching (pun intended) but I realized one thing: she deserves this victory, to slay this thing and come to me where I knew all along she would be victorious. She needs to own her passage to her New World and I'll be here cheering her on until we're on the plane, laughing about it all.

We've come a long way, Baby. From our first trip to Busan together in 2011 to our wedding and now our stack of papers to bring you home with me, we're double awesome.

We've come a long way...
...and we did it together.

Sexy Pig by Ryan Horne feat. Vicious Delicious & DJ Grandalf

The return of the pork loving Vicious Delicious is live!
Ryan Horne, Zach MacDonald and I have been busy this last week putting together our latest effort to celebrate Sexy Pig, a local ribs restaurant. The song was planned over a year ago and has been pieced together until last Saturday when the three of us go together to record it. I spent the Sunday afterwards mixing and putting on the final touches. The song comes in at 43 tracks and is definitely the largest track I have ever managed, weighing in at over 1 GB!
